Pink on Canvas

Challenges:
Simon Monday Challenges-winged things
Bunny Zoe's Crafts-monochrome
Crafty Calendar Challenge-things with wings
Crafty Cardmakers-handmade flowers

I love watching Fiona Jennings on youtube. And she has done these fabulous canvases and tags where she adds a bunch of things to them and then paints over everything with one color. I loved the concept but was a little hesitant to do it myself. Well yesterday I decided what the heck, if I dont like it I wont show anyone lol. So this is my version of Fi's work. I love it.
I used a lot of things that I dont particularly care for because of color, I like the shape, but like the big butterfly, it was gold and glittery, ick lol. The two big flowers, the bottom and middle parts are cardboard. I ran some through my cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz die, then I layered an acrylic flower on top then some ugly dark blue bling. The heart next to the word art is one of those gray Martha Stewart plastic charm hearts.

I hot glued everything down, then covered the fairy picture. I covered everything with gesso, then sprayed it pink with Recollections Pastels spray. That is sort of a hit and miss color, I like the colors but they kind of go to one spot then you have to spread them around. I used a paper towel to spread them around. Then I added a slightly darker pink paint in spots, then in a few spots a cranberry paint.

Christi this is gorgeous. I loved your description of 'ugly dark blue bling'. Well it's not ugly now!
