Pink on Canvas

Challenges:
Simon Monday Challenges-winged things
Bunny Zoe's Crafts-monochrome
Crafty Calendar Challenge-things with wings
Crafty Cardmakers-handmade flowers

I love watching Fiona Jennings on youtube. And she has done these fabulous canvases and tags where she adds a bunch of things to them and then paints over everything with one color. I loved the concept but was a little hesitant to do it myself. Well yesterday I decided what the heck, if I dont like it I wont show anyone lol. So this is my version of Fi's work. I love it.
I used a lot of things that I dont particularly care for because of color, I like the shape, but like the big butterfly, it was gold and glittery, ick lol. The two big flowers, the bottom and middle parts are cardboard. I ran some through my cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz die, then I layered an acrylic flower on top then some ugly dark blue bling. The heart next to the word art is one of those gray Martha Stewart plastic charm hearts.

I hot glued everything down, then covered the fairy picture. I covered everything with gesso, then sprayed it pink with Recollections Pastels spray. That is sort of a hit and miss color, I like the colors but they kind of go to one spot then you have to spread them around. I used a paper towel to spread them around. Then I added a slightly darker pink paint in spots, then in a few spots a cranberry paint.

I love you Birdie

I just adore this little birdie. I stamped him in different blue distress inks, then stamped and colored him with Bic Mark-its. I cut him out and pop dotted him up on one of the birds. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and so is the I love you I stamped in the middle. This is a 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 card.

Q & L Challenge: Flower

I made another quote tag for the Quotes and Lyrics challenge at The Craft Barn. This one is for Flower. I used several blues and greens distress inks. Then I flicked water onto the tag to look like rain. I stamped some flower and colored them in with Bic Mark-it's.

I am also entering this into the Ready for Spring challeneg at Stamp and Create, nothing says spring to me like flowers and rain.

Tag for Q&L challenge ART

This is my tag for the Quotes and Lyrics challenge Art over at The Craft Barn. My quote is by Scott Adams. "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. ART is knowing which ones to keep." I used dylusions sprays. I stamped a peacock on there, and some cherry blossom branches. They didnt come out the way I wanted but after adding the sprays and quote I was very satisfied with what I did. I made an envelope for it and the bottom photo is where I am placing it in my journal.

Well this is my second altered clothes pin, this one is smaller, only about six inches I reckon. I added a wooden frame to this one. I painted it green, then used my distress paint dabber to put polka dots on it, I used a small dowel to put the dots on the frame. I put swirls on with liquid pearls. I pleated ribbon, then added some lace. Kinda hard to see that anymore though lol. I added flowers and buttons, pearl trim and these words that say special memories. The photo is my niece and her baba (grandpa), she was only 9 months old in this picture, shes nine years old now. This is a gift for her grammy.

Repurposing a shelf

I got this fabulous little shelf Goodwill

I started off by whitewashing the whole shelf, I just watered down white paint. I used watered down paint on all the embellishments also. The images are from Whimsy. I cut some paper doilies in half to add to a couple of the shelves. I used prima papers to back the shelves. I just made this as frilly and girl as possible lol. I am sending this to a new friend, Cheryl in Canada.
