Girly altered puzzle piece

I want to thank everyone who stuck with me on my blog, I know its been awhile since I have posted, that would be because I am homeless. We have been living with different family member for two months. Makes it hard to craft let me tell you lol. But I did make this really feminine altered puzzle piece, I started with the purse charm, I wanted something that I could use it with.

If you have been following my blog you will  have seen a couple of other paper mache purses I decorated. I posted a picture of them on facebook and a very good friend of mine Patti saw them and fell in love. She asked for one in hot pink. She loves tattoos and skulls, flames etc, so I went all out on this one. I still have glitter on me lol. So does hubby, hes not happy about that lol.

I adore this acrylic flowers
The Tim Holtz metal sentiment says "the journey awakens the soul"

I took a Tim Holtz grunge board skull and glittered the heck out of it, I added some jewels in the eyes.

I embossed this skull, its another grungeboard one. Then I added some glass glitter on top of the embossing. The black heart is also grungeboard, I added black glitter to it, then put a blingy skull on it and another on the flower, below. The pink skull is right in the middle of a lace bow.

The paper flowers are my favorite. I got 144 of these for less than 7 bucks on ebay, no shipping and handling, how is that for a deal.

I added some charms.

My sister in law EO added the flames to the sides, she outlined them with red stickles.

I love love love this paper that I lined the inside with, its from Studio 112. I then edged it with crocheted lace.

Bunny Zoe-flower and pearls
Totally Gorjuss-happy
Frosted Designs-be bold

I decided I wanted to do some altered puzzle pieces for myself. So I started with 4 corners. I knew I wanted these as a wall art piece. So I did my colors in pink and black. I stamped on each one. My favorite is the face and I stamped inspire below it and then added a little frame. I added flowers, pearls and bling, plus this adorable acrylic butterfly. I layered some lace on the back sides. I took the word Happy from the dictionary. I put mod podge on the front and back of it to make it stable, then added it in an arch to one of the pieces. I dangled charms from each piece, the two words are live and life. I added pop top tabs to the back so I could hang them.

Altered Puzzle Pieces

Challenges:
My darling hubby bought me a set of three kids puzzles from the Dollar General, it had this great box which you will be seeing altered soon. I has a sliding top. The puzzle pieces are I think compresses paper, or something, Its not wood, but its very sturdy.

This is the front and back of one first just after adding paper, the second after I sanded it and then added distress ink.

Here it is all decorated. I loved it so much I made a second one. These are in the mail tomorrow for a couple of special friends. I had so much fun with these. I just took my tim holtz pokey thing to make the hole at the top, just worked it for a couple of minutes to get it through, then added a big jump ring and then smaller ones for more charms.

my arrow is on this one

Homemade flowers

I made some flowers yesterday. The three are felt and buttons. I found out I can use felt with my cuttlebug and big shot dies. I only had a couple of colors of felt but thought they made cute flowers. The big one I made with rose petals, not sure of the material, but almost feels like paper, but its fabric. I got the ideas for these from KSUE on youtube. The petal flower are rolled at the end and glued to a circle, I added more to the back to fill it out, then added tulle, bead spray, I put a felt flower to cover the middle really well and added a button. Its too big for a card, but thinking about adding this to a frame or candle. Not sure yet. If you want to see a picture tutorial of how I made this let me know I will do one.

Canvas art for Jordan-Letter E

This is my first canvas piece, I have been watching a lot of videos of art journaling and enjoying it so very much. So I took some inspiration from these very talented people and made a canvas for my niece Jordan. She is having her room redecorated. She will be a big sister in July, my brother and his wife are doing a nursery for the new baby, another girl by the way :), so they decided to redo Jordans room so she doesnt feel left out. I have been making stuff for her to decorate her room with. I started out with the gorgeous picture of Jordan in her favorite dress. She wore this dress for two years before she grew out of it, and she was very sad to lose it.
I took a piece of butterfly paper in the same colors as the picture. I tore it to fit the page and put it down with mod podge. I then painted the canvas with my fingers, lol very messy, in pink, yellow and green. I wanted the color without it completely covering the paper. I used texture paste along with a couple of butterfly stencils. I stamped Jordan then painted in the letters. I used a pair of wings from Tim Holtz grunge board, painted them pink, then stamped a design on them. I put them behind Jordan so she would be a butterfly. I hot glued some tiny flowers. Then I added my E word that I think perfectly describes her in this picture, Enjoyment.
