I won this journal awhile back. Its by Amy Tangerine. I am doing the challenge on The Craft Barn, this year its the Quotes and Lyrics challenges. You can use one or both of two words, this fortnight its Smile and Up.
I first did Up, using the lyrics to Forever Young by Bob Dylan, its one of my favorite songs. I used one of the red pages and my sister in law wrote it out for me in white paint pen. She used a black pen on the words Up. I doodled around the page.
I wasnt satisfied just doing one word so I went the page next to it, which was just notebook lines. I gessoed the page, then painted it. I then stamped a music page stamp in black ink. I then took a piece of white mulberry paper and put it over the paint and stamp with Golden medium. It was too opaque so I went over the top with more medium and I can see everything through it. I stamped my favorite and only face stamp in walnut distress ink. I then wrote out the lyrics to Smile written by Charlie Chaplin and sang by Nat King Cole. I love love love this song.
I am going to do as much of the challenge for the year in this journal, but will run out of room before too long lol. It does have pocket page so I will do some on tags. Really excited about this whole challenge.
